    Hi there!

I have an Acer Aspire 5021WLMI and with it i good the x700 graphic card....i was wondering if i could replace it with the mobile geforce 6800 ultra 256mb card that can be bought on ebay....they still have the heatsink intact and everything....i would just want to boost up the graphic performance a little bit :D

Graphic cards in laptops are very different to desktops.

They have to be the right size/shape for different types of laptops so I doubt your new mobile geforce will fit at all.

Also I'm sorry to say that the graphics cards in Acer laptops are partly soldered into the motherboard - making it impossible to upgrade

    sorry! :(

No, the Aspire 5021wlmi is based on AMD processor's which do not support DDR2 memory.

the only easy ways you can boost your laptop's performance is to upgrade ur ram and replace ur hard drive with a faster one

did u buy the 6800 to put in ur acer only? how much did it cost?

yeah i have thought about that...nope, haven't bought the geforce 6800 ultra card yet but i am thinking of doing it....as long as the size of the card matches the x700 card there shouldn't be a problem....almost all laptops have the heatthingy on the left side of the computer....under the screen....and if the pipes won't fit it's just to modify the pipes....you still earn money :p

what i can't understand is why DDR2 ram costs less then DDR ram
