 ok.. so i went to bed last night and my computer was fine.. and i woke up and it says autocheck program not found - skipping autocheck
then it sends me to a screen that says :
windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
if windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, setup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. if power was interrupted during startup, choose start normally

and it gives me two choices
    launch setup repair
    start normally

start normally just puts me in the same place and setup repair starts a search for problems and then a window pops up w/ "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically
and it asks to send info to microsoft
then all it gives me is an click finish to exit and shut down your computer

    what do i doooo???!?!?!
try my aim s/n StaviusFTW or maybe email if i cant respond here

    Backup files, then:

    1. Grab a windows disc and repair install.
    2. Grab your recovery discs and recover.
    3. Use your recovery partition and recover.

Just to add on to what Lithus said, you can either pull your drive out, stick it in an external enclosure and access it from another computer, or boot from a Linux LiveCD and rescue them off of your HD.

and remember notebook sata drives use the same connectors as desktop sata drives so if you have a desktop you can just plug the drive into your desktop. backup your data and let it run a chkdsk, often this will allow you to boot off the drive to burn restore disks if you havent already.
