    Hi,

    I'm looking into getting the 8930G Centrino2 (P8400 2.26Ghz, 4Gb RAM, GF9600), I currently have a Vaio S5XP Centrino (2Ghz, 1Gb RAM, GF 6400Go).

The 2.5Ghz version of this with dual HDD is a little out of my price reach and I don't really have a need for the tv tuner element of it.

I am an avid player of games but my current laptop is now starting to feel the strain and am having to turn the detail levels down to their minimum. As my desktop has now gone to the grave I am looking to replace both laptop and desktop with a single combined unit.

Will this laptop be a significant upgrade for me?

What are your experiences with Acer (the 8930G range particularly)?

Will it be able to cope well with things like Quake4, Doom3, WoW, NFS Undercover, UT etc, C# Development

Also, it would be interesting if anyone who has one, could/has already opened up the bottom (it says its for memory and hard disk expansion and does not invalidate the warranty) to see if the single disk version has a spare drive bay so it can be upgraded later.

Many thanks in advance for any responses/advice

    Rizzo

    The laptop is good
the C2D 2.26GHz is a big upgrade from a Pentium M, also the 9600m GT is more than 5 times powerful than the old 6400go

I'm pretty much sure that you can max out older games like WOW,Quake4 and Doom3, Modern games you should be able to at least run them on Medium setting on WXGA (1280X800)

However I have no experience with the 8930G, but specs wise it looks very good
