    Greetings friends,
I need help over here. I flashed my girlfriends Acer Aspire 1652LMI with the wrong BIOS. I thougt WinFlash would prompt me with the Old and Current bios version and then proceed if Yes button was pressed. But no, I run Winflash, and it made all the work alone and then rebooted.
Now the laptop wont boot. Power is On, HDD led is on but no Post.
I believe winflash made a backup of the old bios somewere in the HD.
Please friends, I'm desperate and the laptop isn't under warranty anymore. Can I fix this?
Thank you in advance for any help

AFAIK i dont think winflash creates any backup copies of bios into ur HDD (correct me if i am wrong !!!). well flashing bios is a very dangerous issue and unless u were sure u shouldnt have done that.

In most desktop the crashed bios can be recovered by manually reseting the bios using bios reset jumper settings. i am not sure if such stuff are present in laptops. however u can try reinserting the CMOS battery of ur laptop to reset the bios. i cant guarantee that this would work. however it is worth a try

refer ur OS manual to know how to remove the CMOS battery and reinsert it

    i did it, it's alive!
I will post here the solution (thank you Daniel for your help!) in case anyone has the same problem:

1- Go to http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?admit=109447626+1204029345165+28353475&threadId=974719 and download Crisis Recovery Disk (It's the little paper clip in the right side of first post).

2- Download the right Bios for your system. Run the Crisis Recovery Disk and let it Format and make the floppy disk.

3- RENAME the bios you have downloaded from Acer into BIOS.WPH and copy it to the diskette. Overwrite the one that is allready in there.

4- With the notebook shutdown, remove the power chord. Plug in the USB floppy Drive with the diskette inside, Press FN+ESC, plug in the power chord, and press Power Button. The diskette drive led will light up. Release FN+ESC and wait. Your laptop will start beeping but it's normal. it's reading the bios. After some seconds, the diskette drive will stop reading. DON'T TURN NOTEBOOK OFF! It will write the Bios in a couple of seconds. Just go drinka coffee or smoke a cigarrete. When you return it should be fine.

Mine just restarted normally and everything was workin great

Good luck for everyone in the same situation, thank you kuncheesh for repying to this topic with your opinion.
Thank you Daniel once again for all the help.
