:( Okay so I tried upgrading my acer 8935g CPU to a ne Q9200, I updated the BIOS before the upgrade. I took it all apart and replaced the heatsink and thermal paste on the GPU/CPU and made sure all cables ere puit back. And hen I power it on theres no POST or VIDEO  .
So I put the ol;d CPU back in and same thing happenes so i know it can't be the ne CPU for sure.
Maybe I missed something a cable etc? but suspect it might be the bios since I used phoniex winphlash through windows. But even after the update the laptop booted fine, only now. What shall I do?

OK, it could sound funny, but have you locked the CPU? I remember one time I was so distracted that I forgot to lock it :) On the other hand, are you sure that you MoBo supports quads? If I recall correctly there were two motherboards for this model - quad and dual core.

Yep it definatley supports quad core, I already had a Q9000 original and thr Q9200 is compatible. I'll double check if ther cpu's locked in becuase it did fiddle abit when i first put it in but then I put my original one back and still same thing. not to mention its a hassle taking it apart lol.
My local pc tech said your mobo's fried  but I'm sure a crisis disk or some bios chip might resolve it.

Unless you snatched something during disassembly/assembly, I don't see how a CPU of any type would fry the MoBo! This sounds weird. Remove the HDD and see if there's life, try to remove one memory module at a time as well.

    Guys! It WORKED! :D :D :p

Now I don't know weather resetting the CMOS battery did the trick or re-checking the GPU/CPU was correctly installed but it fired up first with the original Q9000, then I put in the new ES Q9200 2.4Ghx Extreme and it presto! bios recognized it, I'm so happy, please my attachment links for cpu-z temp and data.
So anyone with an 8935G aspire should be able to upgrade to this but make sure you update your bios to 3212 ver from acer support website. I did it through windows, not sure it would work without this bios ver.
well GTS 250m is the next upgrade for and I will keep you posted with pics to show how much dust and screws lol I had to tackle.
This an Extreme edition quad so I heard it can be overclocked to 3.0! better wait for the arctic silver thermal

    thnaks guys

Congrats! I'm glad that everything is alright now. Happy clocking :D

Unless you're a fan of nVIDIA (even if that's the case) why you chose GTS 250M, when you can put ATi 6770M in there, which is notably faster?

yep I'm a fan of nvidia :) but I do like the sound of that 6770m, I would definatley take that for a choice between both, only problem its hard to find and costs around £361 from ebay  whereas GTS 250m is £89 quid. and I've heard the 6770m is abit of a hot chip. Though I don't mind trying it if i can get hold of one, hell if Q9200 extreme is in then this should work too.
