    sorry for my newbiness but i just got this laptop and i wanted to install windows xp pro cuz i dont like the media centre and useless progs in my laptop anyways i noticed that the bios has set a password that i cannot change or remove i dont recall putting any passwords? except he user password which i took off

    okay to the point i was wondering can i install windows xp pro anyways without needing the password to the bios?

    any help would be greatly appreciated thanks a lot

    You shouldn't have to enter the BIOS to install XP Pro unless the boot order has been changed. (i.e. cd as first boot device, etc.)
    However it would be nice to have your BIOS accessible if you ever have problems.
