I can't connect to my router, D-Link DI-624, wirelessly with my 8006lmi. Well, I can connect, but the internet doesn't work. When I click on repair from the taskbar it gives me a "TCP/IP not enabled for this connection. Cannot proceed" error. I've e-mailed D-link's support, but they haven't been able to figure anything out. Does anybody know what's wrong?

DSL or cable? Had you configured your internet connection before using the wireless router? Can you connect to the internet if you bypass the router and connect your modem and computer with an ethernet cable?

It sounds like you don't have the router or PC fully configured.

do you have the IP protocol installed in the laptop? assuming you have windows XP, go to: start, right click on my network places, select properties. then right click on your wireless connection, and hit properties. from there, be sure you have the internet protocol installed. Otherwise hit the install button, and add a new TCP/IP protocol.

On the other end, check the router, make sure you have DHCP turned on so it can assign IP addresses.

I've got the connection running fine wired right now through the router, and I have cable.

I've got Win XP pro, but there aren't any install or add buttons in the "wireless network connection" properties. There is a menu in the "Network Bridge(Network Bridge 2" properties with "Internet Protocal (TCP/IP)" though.

    Hey Be,

Have you ever connected anything wirelessly to your router before? If not, you will have to configure both the router and network card before you can get online.

    1. The standard thing would be to check the router manual first, they will usually give you steps on how to setup a wireless network.
    2. Check out this link to configure a wireless network.

    http://www.utexas.edu/its/wireless/install/config_winall.html

    3. Check a few things on your router, did you enable MAC Filtering? If you did, make sure you add the MAC address of your notebook into the list. DId you enter the encryption keys correctly?
    4. You may want to call D-Link rather than sending an email. You'll get to the root of the problem a lot faster when you speak to someone, than you would if you send a message and waited for a response.

    Good luck!
