    Hi guys

Last night accidentally I spilled water on my keyboard :( .
after that few keys stopped working, fortunately I can still loading to windows which means no "serious" damage on my internal component.
I tried to dry up the keyboard and now almost all keys are working (down arrow key still not working though)

Now whenever I load windows, there is beeping noise . it happens after acer screen when progress bar screen (before windows loading screen)

Anyone knows what is this? is it dangerous?

    thanks

This happens on my old laptop and its annoying. That computer is quite broken (the lid is falling off.) I don't know what causes the beeping though

My advice is STOP using that notebook immediately and let it dry out for atleast a day or 2. You are lucky it was just water and not anything with sugar or anything else like that in it.

Leave it to dry and then try it again, the best way to fry a mainboard is to get it wet and then try to use it (electricity  ) remember water and electricity don't mix. When you are sure it is completely dry try it again and see if it is still keeping the high pitched beeping sounds.

In most cases when this happens members on this forum will tell you to just leave it alone and it will dry. Hair dryers can get pretty hot I am not sure about that one, using it would be up to you. I hope you haven't already damaged something using it before it has completely dried out. Moisture and electronic circuitry don't mix... :(

the fact that it still turns on is a good sign. i would leave the unit in a warm room for a couple of days at least, also removing the battery is a good idea for safety reasons.
it sounds like your keyboard now has a stuck key due to the water spillage but you may be lucky that it starts working again if it dries out further.

I would first of all take out the HD and if there is a way, either using your friend's notebook, getting an external enclosure, and backing up all of your important files.
