I am looking at replacing my 1810T bilingual keyboard with a US version very soon and am trouble finding any info or disassembly guide with respect to that model.

Can anyone assist if they have done this or provide links to information or guides?

    Thanks ahead!

It's not exactly hard, just use a small screwdriver to release it from its clips at the top.

That sounds like a simple thing to do....but where are the clips exactly at the top? Does the entire unit have to be dissassembled ordoes the keyboard clip in and out on its own without other dissassembly?

What kind of clips, how do they release and are they easily breakable?

If you use a flash light you will see that there are small tabs at the sides and top of the keyboard.

I only have a 751h here now but I believe the keyboards are exactly the same.

I just lift it up now as I am typing.

Tool that work well is a credit card and a small flat screwdriver or the tip of the file on a nailcutter.

The tabs are part of that chassis so they should be pushed away from the keyboard.

Start on the left side (if you are right-handed) and locate the tab about 2/3 up on the keyboard (just above the TAB key).

Take the credit card and lay it it flat under the keys on the left side. This way you can gently apply a lift on the keyboard but do not use excessive force as this might damage your keys.

While holding this lift, gently force the tab away from the keyboard and the keyboard will slightly pop up.

Now the next tab is located between the ESC and F1 key. Push this tab towards the battery.

Now the keyboard will pop up even further. Do not force up but continue with the other 3 tabs along the top and then one on the right side.
Usually its loose before you have to go all the way.

Tilt the keyboard up carefully so you can see the ribbon cable connection underneath.

Power off your system and gently help the the connector out with a small tool.

Second time you do this you can do it blindfolded.

    Good luck!

Edit: It seems its actually only the top tabs holding the keyboard. The side tabs appears to be for centering.

    Thank you....sincerely.

So this would mean that there is no need to disassemble the actual unit to change the keyboard if i am right? I can remove the keyboard to change and thats it?

    Secondly,

I have a picture of a keyboard for sale on ebay which only shows me 4 tabs...

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/Acer-Aspire-Time...mQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item5638abab6b

Is it possible with this model the top would vae to be dissassembled or maybe the yop of the keyboard slides into a bracket of some type before the tabs on bottom click in?

Thanks for the help...only other difficulty i have now is finding a silver keyboard but I am thinking a bkack keyboard may not really look that bad on a silver unit.

there're white 751h keyboard on ebay and should fit your 1810t. The process is extremely easy maybe that's why there are few dedicated posts about it(you can find some info in bluetooth module post)

Do u know the link??? I am very dissappointed with search capabilities now on this site...

    EDIT:

Ok so..if this body is the same as the original Aspire One 751, there are 3 clips at the top of the keyboard at the F2/F8/Pause Keys. If I gently but a flat tip screwdriver beside the middle first and pull down, the first will release followed by the left and the right. After this I can just slide the bottom upand then carefully pull the connector up to clear the keyboard from the system.

Does this sound about right to anyone who has done it?
