Hi guys,
6 mths ago, I had experienced overheating problem while gaming on my 3yrs old Acer Aspire laptop(CPU set to Max speed). My laptop will just shut down/power cut off suddenly after sometime. After reading some articles about laptop overheating, I removed the heat sink and fan and cleaned it thoroughly. I also reapplied new thermal paste to the CPU.
Everything worked well until recently.
The same thing happened again. <CPU set @ max speed during gaming, laptop power off suddenly after sometime>.
I did all the usual cleaning and reapplication of thermal paste to the CPU again but this time it doesnt work. I also checked that if the fan is still working.
Thinking that it might be caused by overheating of GPU, hence I disassembled the whole lappie (3yr warranty just expired), located the GPU +heatsink & applied new thermal paste.
It doesn't work too. I even placed a laptop fan below the laptop but still doesnt help.
After sometime, i noticed that my laptop will power cut as long as my CPU setting is set @ Max & High.
If the CPU is set running @ Normal or Low speed, it will not power cut.
Ive tried all there is to fix my lappie but to no avail.
Can anyone help me?
