Hi everione. Recently i tried to update the firmware to vista, but something went wrong cause when i've restarted the laptop no image was shown. :( After i've thought about a bit and figured out that the firmware "probably" wasn't met for my graphic card although the display was turned off everithing looked ok like sound keyboard shortcuts, etc... . Anyone knows a way to reflash the bios even though the display doesn't turn on, like a reset on the bios or something? . thnks in advance

ouch, that really really sucks. You could phone acer and see if they replace BIOS chips (for a hefty fee I'm sure).

Assuming the laptop does its normal start up routine and doesn't stop when it realizes it cant talk to the graphics card, you could try getting a friend to do the EXACT same process you did to update the firmware.

What I mean by that is, get your two computer together, start them up at the same time, boot both of them from a USB flash stick, have both of you type in the same command required to update the BIOS etc. This way you know that if a menu comes up on your friends laptop, it will come up on yours (hopefully) and you can press enter to continue the process without actually seeing what your laptop's screen is showing. It's a long shot, but probably worth a try compared to sending your laptop in to Acer... if they agree to fix it in the first place.

Oh did the video start working again or something? Great to hear! Bricking a perfectly good piece of electronics is quite a tragic event.

Yep, I can help you out with booting to a usb. My way involved using DOS however, so hopefully you have some knowledge of how to navigate through it. If not, then I can't help you :(. Get a program called FreeDOS, and put it on your usb drive. Then go into your BIOS and make sure that the boot priority of USB is higher than your hard drive (in most cases it's good to be set this way anyway).

Actually you realy need a usb Floppy drive and a computer to use the "Phoenix Crisis Disk" on this site http://www.rechner.org/b1800.html. Just follow the instructions and instead of using "Fn + b" use "Fn+Esc". If you read the instructions in that site you'll understand what i'm saying. Cheers
