Hi. I've got a 4501 and I've had it for a few months now. Everything has run fine up until last night when I tried shutting it down and a screen came up asking me if I wanted to end process on Zoom In. I rebooted and noticed that my cpu was being used at 100% when idle. I looked under processes and QtZgAcer was using 99% cpu. I tried unchecking it under startup under msconfig but when I reboot it reboots in a diagnostic mode as if it needs this program. Does anybody know how to get around this program and what I may need it for? I just want my computer back to normal. Thanks for any help!

Ok, I found out that the program has something to do with Acer's Launch Manager. I uninstalled the Launch Manager and reinstalled it with the included disk but I still get the same problem. None of the function keys are working. Please help me. I am not very computer literate and this is aggrevating.

Ok, if anyone cares, the problem seemed to be in the quicklaunch bar in Windows XP. I had just recently erased everything from my desktop and enabled and put several links into the quicklaunch bar. For some reason, it caused my system to take a long time to get past the Welcome screen and then ran into the zoom in problem when I tried shutting down. I restored from a restore point and everything is fine.

Does anyone know why the quicklaunch bar would be conflicting with Acer's launch manager? Has anyone else had this problem?

This seems to be related to the Acer Launch Manager. There have been many posts on this issue. The workaround was to remove/disable the Acer software.

    Hello Elliot
I'm Spanish. Sorry for my bad english. My notebook is doing like yours. The process QtZgAcer.exe uses 99% cpu when I turn on my computer and I can't work. A screen came up asking me if I wanted to end process on Zoom In, like you. I rebooted and QtZgAcer.exe was using 100% cpu when idle. I tried everything you tried, and the problem continue. I installed the last Launch Manager (1.06) downloaded from de Acer oficial web site, but the problem continue. Does anybody know how to repair my problem? Elliot, your notebook is now fine? Please, contact me [email protected]. I just need my computer back to normal, like you. Thanks for all.

I'm running into the same problem now. I can't let it autostart with windows or it takes 99% of the system processes. I had to disable autostart and I have to start it manually now.

If there is a work around, I'd love to know.

I'm having the exact same behavior with my Acer 8204. Anyone with a solution yet? I can't pin the blame on a conflict or other software (I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Launch Manager to no avail). I just noticed this occurring but can't figure out what's causing it. The solution as stated before is just to disable the QtZgAcer and start it by hand but this is hardly ideal. Thanks for any help.

Hi. Don't really know the cause of the problem, but I do have solution though. Go to the directory of the file (C:\Program Files\Launch Manager\)
The name of the file is QtZgAcer.EXE.
Rename the file to anything that you want..eg. QtZgAcerXXX.EXE.
This way, windows won't auto start this file everytime u restart ur pc.

But if you still want the launch manager to start everytime windows loads,
make a shortcut of this renamed file and place it at your startup folder. Then restart your comp.

Everything would be just fine after that. =)
