    Help with Acer TravelMate 2420 Bios Password

    Hi, I am a little puter'stupid.
    I recently bought an acer travelmate2420 series from a pawnshop. when it was in the pawn shop it was running well. seemed like a good bargin so I picked it up. but later that evening it died and after a charge I tried to turn it on again to find I had been locked out by a password I did not set.
    So I called the pawnshop the next day and they were unable to locate the password for me, I also asked why it didnt happen the day they showed it to me and it was because they had not turned it off for 3 days since buying it themselves.
    I would like to find a way around this password that does not involve me taking the computer apart because as I said.. I'm not very good with them and would really hate to fry my 200$ investment.

    Thanks hairy lee,
    just spent a hour and a half looking and googling for a reset bios for this laptop, my young nephew screwed up his laptop with a bios password, your method worked a treat with the 2 triangle contacts, but if like me someone is searching for this reset be aware that these contacts are very tiny so look hard they are where hairy lee says they are about 3 mm gap between them so look hard, thanks again m8 just had to register to say cheers.

    HELP ME PLEASE!
    i have got a acer aspire 9303 which on which i flashed the bios but it now keeps on asking for a password which i dont know. i have never put a password on before and i suspect that the bios flash has screwed my laptop up now. but i really want to get it workin so i can do my uni work. i have got the laptop in pieces to get to the cmos battery to remove the password which i thought would help. but unfortunately doesnt. i have followed Hairy Lee instructions but i dont think it matches my laptop.

    Hairy Lee you are my only hope. help me Please..
