So my sister bought a (used) travelmate 2200 just over a year ago, and is now having problems with it. She says it says that it's running off of AC power, so I don't think it's a battery problem and she can hear the fan running, so I don't think it's that either

According to her, it will shut off, sometimes every 5-10 minutes, and at least every 30 minutes and then it wants to do a disk check.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong, and how to fix it?
