Help with recovery

Hey i got a acer Aspire laptop and it came with vista (wich i don't care all that much for) i was going to put xp on so but after wiping the hard drive and trying xp i could not get it to work with some of the drivers and stuff so i have to go back with vista. I finaly got them to send me some recovery cds but i tried to recover it and got a error message 0xd000001e after that when i try recovering it i get the same message and have to reboot. When i try to boot to xp i get a blank screen.

any help, tips, or sujestion would be great

 

Have you tried starting the recovery from the recover partition rather than the disks? If you wiped the whole hard disk when you installed XP this wont work, but try holding alt and F10 while the machine boots.

Just so you know that model works with xp what drivers did you have issueing finding ? maybe we can help you get going also vista work good on it too the 5050 i have at moment beside came with vista basic but also have acess to 5050 with xp
