    Hi!

    Please, can anybody help me?
I was cleaning my Aspire 5102 and I sprayed a cleaning fluid on the LCD... when I turned the lap on, there was a light/bright spot on the right side of the screen!!!!!!

The LCD is working, the spot just make things lighter... I guess it may be the fluid that got inside the LCD...
Do you guys know what I can do? I don't want to send it to repair (it's brand new!!!). I removed the frame but I couldn't find any way in...
Sometimes I think it got a little bit smaller...

I was thinking to use a hairdryer on the screen, will it damage the LCD?

Please, any help will be very welcome!

    Thanks!

Wow, that happened to my brothers school laptop. That sucks, apparently they never fixed it for him. He used it for 3 years that way. Sorry to hear that. I have not figured out a way to fix that. You probably washed away a coating on the screen thats unfixable. Sorry.

The coating that was mentioned above could be the antiglare, glossy coating that makes your photos and videos look better (the Acer CrystalBrite thing?)

Hi! Thanks for your answers! The strange thing is that I wasn`t informed about the replies...

As I said, the spot was getting smaller... and in exacts 24h, the spot completely vanished!!!!!!! :D

Yeah, I guess you`re right about the anti-glare coat... but it looks like some kind of thin film, not something that may be washed away. The moisture got behind it. If it got inside the LCD (between the glass sandwich), then the LCD would be marked forever, like the one from Gman4u2`s brother...

    Thanks!

Glad to see it worked out. Evaporation worked 4 you. Unfortunatly for my brother, his liquid was probably a soda. None evaporating crap left inside. Its actually pretty expensive but I bought my brother a Monster (cable) screen clean set from BB. I got it for $20 and it comes with the cleaning solution (which worked perfectly on his laptop screen), and a non-abrasive non lint cloth. I've used it on all my screens so far with no problems. The most sensitive being the Acer 5672 screen. Hell, It even works well getting the finger smudges to the left n right of the screen. :)

I need a perfect display, I work with hires pics and ads! That spot would make my laptop useless... although I didn`t like this LCD... looks great, but lacks on shades and color blendings...

If your brother is going to use that laptop for a while, why don`t he change the LCD? It may worth if he`s going to use it for a few years. A LCD for the 5100 costs about 200-250$ on eBay!
