I am at a repartitioned laptop now. The C drive still has the factory settings from before the repartitioning. Now its time to pick a free uninstall program to get rid of the junkware?

Any suggestions for a program - one that has been successful for you before - hopefully several times?

Perhaps you have suggestions for what the program should have in terms of feature?

To be honest, I'm not entirely certain, I use it myself and would recommend it, and I've never had any issues with it.

This is a little info from another site:

Well, I installed Revo Uninstaller and uninstalled many programs. It certainly goes through the registry, but many file folders under Program Files are left behind. That's not as clean as as I had expected.

But that is a normal behavior for such software, especially if you have modified/added some files in the installation directory like, for example, a custom config file. The file is not "listed" as installed, there is no record about it, so the uninstaller do not uninstall it BUT STILL DETECTS that the directory is not empty and that's why it doesn't delete the folder..

I suppose you're right. But it prompted when deleting keys and other files, and I don't see why it couldn't find and ask about a folder "Office" under C:\Program Files" as well.

But this is academic now. I will still be looking for a better and faster uninstaller.

    I'm done with this thread.
