Ok guys, I had my original windows XP HOME EDITION on my laptop, I used Alt+f10 but at the end it gave me errors C:\preload and X:/(somefile) is missing and one more error.

So I decided to format C, and installed XP Pro on it. After that my Alt+F10 option stopped working.

I want to restore back to my factory settings, with XP Home Edition, and I did not burn any discs either.

Also, I did not change the partitions, I only formatted C drive, and they are all still FAT32.

Guys please I need your help on how to recover my laptop to its factory settings.

ok guys, I managed to recover my Alt+F10 option !!!!! Now when the recovery starts near the end, I get these messages

Fail in creating or opening a file

    Cannot find file C:\preload.tag

    Cannot find file D:\preload.tag

    Cannot find file X:\preload.tag

How do I fix this to restore my original factory settings ?
