I have configured my Power options in windows to the following:

    - Standby on Plug in after 30 min
    - Standby on Battery after 10 min
    - Hibernation on Plug in after 3 hours
    - Hibernation on Battery after 2 hours

The problem is when the system hibernates during standby mode, hibernation does not occur and the whole notebook stops working. The screen is off, the fan keeps turning, and the Sleep led keeps blinking. Pressing the power button or any key does not do any action. The only way I can shutdown the notebook is either by keep pressing on the power button for 5 sec or remove the battery and unplug it from the electricity and loose all my work. I have contacted Acer support about this situation and they told me to do a system recovery which did not work. If I hibernate my notebook while I am in Windows it works normally but when the notebook hibernates during standby mode I get the above results. Is there any solution to this stituation... plz ur help is really appreciated!!

I finally solved the problem. It was the graphic card driver all along! The latest Intel extreme graphic 2 driver hangs the system when hibernation occures during standby mode! Intel should make their drivers better not worse [ :(!]!!
