I never was one for waiting on slipstreaming, so I got a hold of a Vista SP2 disc online (don't worry, I'm using my own Product Key), but I decided to see what all the hullabaloo is about ultimate, as I've formatted already, what another 20min of my time reinstalling Home Premium right?

Now the kicker is this.. apparently the BIOS based activation certificate works to pre-activate Ultimate as well! Guess it stands to reason, as it's cheaper to use the same programming on all boards, saves money. My laptop is an Acer 4530, and it also works for my Gateway M-6864FX :)

Now what I'm wondering is whether this works for others too, or if I'm alone with this, 'cause it sure is nice (not that Ultimate is worth much IMO)

Funny Note: Hullabaloo is not flagged by spellcheck, apparently it's part of the US-EN dictionary :p

~EDIT: I posted this in the Acer Forum, because it may be limited to Acer BIOS' for all I know, and Gateway is Acer owned now so..
