    Hi

I have a problem with my Acer Aspire 5520M ... I it getting very very hot, about 90-91 degrees when I use it, then the fans turns on and it get's colder. It does this A LOT, and when I game i shifts between laggin and running fine. It is very very annoying, and I have NO idea what is wrong.. I even have problems running warcraft 3 in 800x600x16, which I think should be running fine all the time.

Have any of you had the same problem or have any ideas how to fix this? Should I send it to repair?

Another question, is it possible to make the CPU run max speed all the time? It is not possible to change this in the BIOS and don't know how to change it, it seems to go down to 800mzh all the time even when power is needed.

    Please help me...

    Try undervolting the CPU.

Also make sure you have the CnQ drivers installed and the feature enabled in the BIOS.

You can check whether CnQ is running fine or not, by running Orthos (Small FFTs), and see if the multiplier goes to the max or not.

Or, you can set the highest multiplier in the Max Performance profile in RMClock and activate it.
But high frequency = high temp.

Cleaning the laptop could low the temperature a lot. Check NBR Cooling Central
If you want to run your CPU at max speed you can do it with RMclock(check The Undervolting Guide) by checking only the highest multiplier...but this can't be good for the CPU.

Edit: Andy that was fast :D ;)

Will this improve the performance of the computer?? or just slow it down constantly?

I tried to use the undervolt thing with RMclock, but my computer started shutting down when I played games. Så I uninstalled it, because I don't have the knowledge of how to do this proberly..

I am new at this, so sorry if I sound naive..

Undervolting does not affect performance. The voltage of the CPU does not affect performance, but affects the power consumption, and in turn CPU temperatures. Lower voltage > lower power consumption, so lower temps.

Monitor your GPU and CPU temps using HWMonitor during gaming.

It doesn't improve the performance of your system, but it may prevent any performance penalties incurred by your system throttling due to overheating.

And follow the guide - it'll show you how to test your UV for stability.
