3 x ASPIRE 5315's all still working perfectly..... 1 x 5315 has MB issue allowing only one stick of ram to be recognized. and 1 x 5315 was smashed by step-father who used to be a professional wrestler... 4 of 5 aspire 5315's all working after over 5 yrs... only one has developed a MB issue with the second ram slot.

crap for video games of the day due to the x3100 built-in GPU, but these laptops can really take daily abuse and survive long time periods.

Aspire 8930G, 3+ years, towards end of the 2nd year had new motherboard, bluray, speaker, finger-print reader - all failed - and a new ethernet port (dog accident!). All replaced by comet service centre - I would tell you avoid at all costs as their service was diabolical - but it's a moot point now. Seems I was just unlucky though as it's a solid dependable and upgradeable machine. If I was to replace this, I'd go for something similar but a more modern spec. :(

I have an Acer 1810TZ I bought on september 2009 and it still works perfectly. I have checked the battery wear, but it's still doing quite good battery times. From the same line, my girlfriend had the Packard Bell version, bought a few months earlier and it's still working perfectly, but now belongs to her aunt.

Saeed, I bought an Acer Aspire E1 about three weeks ago, and it works great! The core temp is generally in the 125F range, but with a fan cooler, it is about 115F. Granted, this is only short-term use, but so far I'm happy with it.

I have an Acer Aspire 1804 bought seven or eight years ago and in perfect condition. 100% as when bought,( only difference from original specs, it had two gigs of ram as opposed to 1/2 a gig) used for approx 14 hour per day, every day. Coldest running laptop I have ever used. I pulled it down two years ago, gave it a complete clean out. Thermal paste renewed every12 months.

Acer Extensa 4630 for 4 years and 8 months, still works great. I have replaced the AC adapter/charger twice including a few days ago and replaced the battery once but the battery must be replaced again soon.

Mine 5739G is working third year since I`ve got it. Only once it was hardly damaged when I dropped it from the table - power socket was destroyed and removed from motherboard. Since that - it is working well. Great machine with great upgrade possibilities.

Aspire 6930G, Turning 5 in a month. Had a problem with the LCD cable, it goes through the hinge and through constant opening and closing of the lid it became damaged and the screen started flickering. Had it replaced and no problems since.

Only downsides is that it's heavy and heats up a lot, and not necessarily only in gaming. But I would buy a second Acer, I'm pretty sure.

My Aspire One (AO532h) netbook will be 4 yrs. old in March. I bought it for our Hawaiian Cruise in 2010. I had Staples backup and remove Windows 7 Started edition (what a joke) and install Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I've been using Ubuntu ever since on the netbook. I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on it now. I have also upgraded the Ram from 1 GB to 2 GB and upgraded the 160 GB hdd to a 160 GB ssd. Great little netbook. Still using the original battery! :)

I have an Acer Aspire 2010 series notebook (purchased new in 2004, so its going on 10+ years) It has Windows XP, and besides a broken hinge I need to replace, its still working awesome! I just bought a new Lenovo T440s as its replacement but i'll still hang onto it for a while longer.

5739G from July 2009, still going strong,.. except the battery, which now has a life of about 19 minutes. Easily replaceable on this model, but I've replaced the entire laptop as I wanted something new for a new job anyway. The old one will go into service as a media center.
