I have an Acer 5552 and I was wondering how I can get Factory setting without eRecovery or the Cd's.

Every time I press Alt + F10 before the Acer logo shows up I keep getting:

    Windows 7/Vista /server (pointer)
    Windows 7/Vista/server
    Windows 7/Vista/server (debug-pointer)
    windows 7/Vista/server (debug)
    Windows 7/Vista/server (No-SLIC)
    Windows 7/Vista/server (No SLIC)
    Windows NT/2000/XP
    Enter Command Line

Is there anything I can do without buying the Cd.

Have you tried any of the options?
If they do not work, I would suggest getting hold of a Windows CD corresponding to your edition of Windows and install it, then install the drivers manually because the eRecovery disks are bloated with bloatware and a clean install is much better than restoring factory settings imo. But doing this will mean that you need some way to back up your activation details, so it might need some work.

You could borrow from a friend, or you could download it (but it's a legal grey area that borders on copyright infringement since there are no official download sources from Microsoft). As for activation details, you have to back it up using a tool like ABR to back up the certificates and license, then installing a fresh copy of Windows and reinstalling, else it will not license and you'll have to call Microsoft and explain to them in order to get your computer activated again.

Well the computer makers do it differently then they used to. They don't give you the Windows DVD's anymore they only give restore disk or a restore partitian. In reality that is the OEM license of Windows and it can only be installed on that machine. You can get it from Acer for a small charge. The only other legal way to obtain Windows is to purchase a license. You can get the retail version which costs more or the OEM version.

Use ABR beta to backup your activation. Then you can download legit windows 7 discs from the links in this thread: legal win 7 isos If the activation backup doesn't work, then just enter the key from the bottom of your machine when asked. I recently upgraded all the hardware in my desktop and 4 weeks later it complained of not being legit. entered the key from the machine, it authenticated and is good. Sometimes you have to call Microsoft to get them to give your hardware permission to run your software, but usually not.

That will depend on if you have a OEM license or a retail license. Typically the version with a laptop is an OEM version and the OEM key is tied to that machine and don't think an OEM key will work if you install a retail version. I also doubt that a OEM key will work with another OEM version. I don't know for sure but the OEM version license is tied to a motherboard and the retail version isn't.

Basically you sick the DVD is and it will prompt you when it needs to. It will ask if you want a clean install and will format the drive for you. It will show you the steps and proceed by itself.

The OEM key backed up by ABR will work fine on a fresh install. It is not tied to the motherboard (OEM-SLP is not tied, but the key on the sticker and any retail key will be tied to the motherboard). The OEM key for Home Premium will only work for Home Premium, and so on.
