Hi, I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 through a clean install. Now I must have enable something I didn't want to because now it asks to put a password in before it boots. I know the password, that's not the problem.

The problem is I'd rather not have it ask me, and there's always a danger of it locking up on me if it gets input incorrectly.

So my question is, how do I turn it off? I did a clean install so I don't have most of the crap Acer throw in, including eManagement Settings, which I heard may have the solution to my problem. I only have the Acer Bio Protection, the fingerprint reader, and I tried turning it off there, but to no avail.

    Regards in advance,

Replace the current password with a new ( with just blank fields )

This will fix the issue .

I tried it, but it doesn't seem to have done the trick. it still ask me to enter the same password at boot up, even though I entered one with blank fields. it doesn't request a password at login though. any ideas?

The Laptop also has login password on Bios ....my advice works only there.

On windows , usually if you have a single user account , system login does not show up .

Hi mate, I had this same issue, try changing the password in the BIOS and when it asks for the new password keep tapping the space bar until it beeps.

Let me know if this helps?

    Cheers
