    Hi

I have an Acer Aspire 3690 laptop and there is a button at the front to turn the bluetooth on. However when I try to turn on the bluetooth the light next to it does not come on and I get a message saying 'No bluetooth device'. Could anyone please let me know why this is and what I should do to correct it. Many Thanks

Hi, I'm guessing that it could be your certain model of laptop did not come with bluetooth, but is enabled for it to be added??

So would I need to purchase something else for the bluetooth to work?

you have a BLUETOOTH BUTTON,,, and a place for an internal BT module,,

but you don't have the BLUETOOTH MODULE installed from the factory

they SELL the internal BLUETOOTH MODULE for your model on EBAY

i'll try to find a link for you.... but it may be tomorrow before i can get around to digging up that info...

but you will have to buy either an internal MODULE (which will work w/ the BLUE TOOTH BUTTON) or buy a BLUE TOOTH DONGLE like hoggie has linked you to...

BTW installing the Bluetooth MODULE may require some disassembly of your notebook... i'm not too familuar w/ your model

It sounds strange. Why is it that acer has got the button for bluetooth connectivity but has not installed an internal bluetooth?!

lets say about an extra £100 upgrade from acer for the bluetooth, or you can do it yourself for £50
