I have an Acer notebook, Aspire 5735Z. Each time I turn on my computer I have to disable the touch pad using Fn plus F7. This disable function is not permanent though. Is there a way to disable the touch pad permanently?
-
Start > Control Panel > Mouse applet > there should be a tab dedicated to the touchpad if you have a driver installed. Here you will find the option to disable the TP.

bog is right, that's the best way to do it.

I keep touch pad enable and use fn+F7 to turn it off.
-
Just out of curiosity, why would you want to disable it?

A touch pad is a pain most people I know have issues and prefer using a normal mouse.

I agee with that, I far prefer a mouse and hate the touchpad, but on a laptop it seems to be a a necerssary evil for convenience?
How do I permanently disable the touch pad
