    Hi,
    could someone please tell me whether I can replace a HDD 5400RPM with a 7200RPM ,what precautions should I take.
    Acer Aspire5610z
    2GB RAM
    HDD- Hitachi HTS 541612J9 SAA00 ATA 5400RPM.
    Will I loose my OEM Vista if I change the HDD, if not how do I reinstall. I would appreciate your comments and suggestions,Thanks.

    You shouldn't have any problem swapping the hdds. Passing the recovery partition will be somewhat difficult but you shouldn't have any problems installing Vista with your Recovery CDs(which, if you don't have them already, could be created using eRecovery and your recovery partition).
