Hi,
I know that this is a noobish question, but how do I actually use the acer 6920g built in TV Tuner? I have never used it before.
On the side of my laptop there is a USB port just for the TV tuner but i'm not really sure how to work it and what it actually does.
Is it used to record TV programmes and what software will I need to make it function?
Thanks,

If your system has a TV tuner, there should be a coaxial cable input to the right of the three USB ports on the right side of the machine.
Use Windows Media Center's Live TV Setup to get everything prepped - you'll need a cable or antenna to receive TV channels, of course. -
Thaks for replying TehSuigi,
When you say coaxial cable on the right there is one input but there is a circle cover, can I remove this (just trying to now but didn't seem to come off) -
If there's a circle cover there, then you don't have the internal TV tuner. On models with a TV tuner, there's a coaxial cable instead of the little plastic circle.
If you want to watch TV on your laptop then, you'll need an external TV tuner, either USB or ExpressCard. -
I've researched this and windows xp, vista, and 7 all support the avermedia a309 but i'll be dammed if i can find one or the liteon -
Like I said, I use a USB tuner from Hauppauge. Uses a cable input or its own antenna via coaxial, and connects to one of the USB ports on the laptop. I wouldn't know how hard it'd be to retrofit.

No personal experience.
Before you go shopping, visit their website and see if they offer drivers and software for download. And if possible, read the manual of the device. So you have at least a slight impression of the product, before you buy.
