    hie folks,
i recently bought myself an acer aspire 5720 laptop.
everything works fine until recently i realize the laptop is a little slow,
it lags sometimes, the sounds automatically stops working and then resumes play, and the screen flickers whereby i would have to reset the pc to scroll between windows again.

most of the previous device drivers don't really function well with vista too.

best solution is to downgrade, as i prefer XP more.

would it be wise if i gather the 5720 xp drivers, and then simple format from dos and install XP ?

or you folks might have other suggestions in order to ensure the perfect method in successfully doing this :(

I wrote up this little guide when I got rid of Vista for XP on my Extensa 5620. It may well pertain to your model also. Hope it helps :D

charredpc - fantastic write up. great indeed.

anyways im planning to follow every move step by step,

heres another question - i visited the support site u linked on your article, somehow for aspire 5720 they only have vista drivers ?

does that mean i'll never be able to get this running on xp ?
or is there any other compatible drivers from different models that i may be able to use ?

thanks so far,... looking forward for the future read. :)

if you check the drop-down menu carefully, for vista drivers, you'll notice that many drivers are named with xp string (and if you need something essential not available, like a chipset or a vga driver just take it from Intel website, ATI, Nvidia, etc).
For example look for laptop chipset 965 express on intel website, or GMA for X3100 graphic card...

    bye
