I right clicked on desktop and went into the nvidia properties but i don't seem to have found a place that lets me borrow system ram for video ram of the 8600m GT, so that i can activate the "turbo cache" feture.

    What am i missing here?

turbo cache only takes system ram when it needs it.

most likely, that is never. even if you are a hardcore gamer.

its on, you don't need to mess with anything.

When you put the memory stick into your computer, it asks you what you want to do with it. One of those options is Turbo Cache. From there if it allows you to do that, you can trust that it is working. If you actually see results is a whole different question.

Soooo.... "turbo cache" and "speed boost" are the same??? I thought "turbo cache" was for the video card ram, and "speed boost" was for the PC's main ram... Now i'm confused???

Oh yeah, you're right. Brain fart. Yeah like above guy said, it will use it if it needs it. You can trust them when they say that. No need to worry about it.

Right click on your desktop>Personalize>Display Settings>Advanced Settings

Turbocache takes up to 1024 Ram assuming you have 2gb installed, with 1gb physical Ram, its half of that.

Anyone knows how to control that turbo cache ? I think that 1GB is waaaaay to much so I would like to limit it on 512 or disable at all

    Don't worry.

It 'll never use all that amount of ram.
Basically I doubt if it will ever use more than 100mb...

if you download rivatuner you can disable turbocache.

go to the power user tab and press the "open matched database" button (its one of the ones at the bottom).
The open the system tree in the menu and look for RMDisableRenderToSysMem... change this to a "1" and save the settings and restart; no more turbocache
