Hi i'm interested to know how to send a fax using the fax modem my Acer Aspire 5672. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not you actually have manually connect the internal fax modem (through the RJ-11 port next to the DVD Drive) into your phone line or if you are connected to ADSL broadband (in my case wirelessly through a wireless router) are you all ready to go? I've noticed the Windows Fax and Scan software built into Vista and it says in the help that you have to connect a phone line to your computer. I just wondered whether since the computer is connected to a phone line through ADSL and a router does that mean i'm ready to send faxes or like i said before do you still have to connect the internal fax modem to the phone line through the RJ-11 port also? Any help on this will be much appreciated.
    Regards, Chris.

You can subscribe to an internet fax service, which allows you to send a fax via the internet, for a fee (with free trial period available). However, there's no way I know of to send a fax using the computer's faxmodem without physically connecting it to the phone system.
