Can I handle my LCD screen of aspire series just like my CRT screen? I mean.. can I touch it with my fingers? Can I wipe it with clothe? Should I take some extra care?

Is my LCD screen made of glass? or is it some sort of membrane?

    Can anyone clarify please?

You can touch an LCD screen. You can certainly clean it with a cloth, although I suggest using microfibre cloths + non-abrasive, non-ammonia cleaner. You should always take special care with notebook screens since they are more fragile than desktop monitor LCDs/CRTs.

They are basically made up of glass(or plastic) and liquid crystals. You might wan to read this article about LCD's...
    http://www.howstuffworks.com/lcd.htm

As for caring for LCD's do not use any sharp objects or put too much pressure on the screen. Clean it using a lint free soft cloth or if there is too much dirt then use a damp cloth to clean the surface. Avoid using chemicals or sprays. There are specific cleaners available for LCD's but generally I would avoid using any chemicals on the LCD screen. You can touch an LCD screen but generally people avoid it since it leaves a ugly oil smudge on the screen.

i usually just stick with a tiny drop of fairy dishwash liquid on a soft cloth to do away the oil...

I use DATA FLASH Screen wipes,it's great.Your LCD screen is after cleaning like you just bought your lappy ,you have 50 wet and 50 dry cloths and it gets job done perfectly.

There is a glass part to it. I clean mine with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water.

That's what I do; I use distilled water just to be finicky, just very slightly dampen an old old cotton t-shirt with the solution, and wipe gently. Makes it just spotless and no streaks :)

the acer 17inch models have great screens but the glossy finished attracts lots of fingerprints.
