It's been 2 weeks now, how much longer should I be waiting for a screen repair?

well in Canada likely another 1 1/2 weeks, in the US? not sure likely about the same.

Acer = cheap = poor support.

Acer always has good support imho.

when my screen went down on my first acer it took 2 weeks from pickup till return day.

Later when another acer laptop had a failing cpu it took 8 days from pickup day to return day.

All i can say is be patient and all will be ok.
Acer is a fine company (atleast here in the benelux they deliver really good support)

So please yuio dont generalise all support of acer just cause u live in canada.

i could also say Canada = cheap s = poor people.

And since Kittie is clearly in Ireland, neither of those locations will do much help.

The support centre still hasn't answered my emails. I don't think I'll be buying Acer again. I just want my laptop back so I can get started on seeing what I can salvage from the C drive.

By the way does anyone have the exact values to use for Undervolting with the 6920G? That'd save me like a full day of messing around. I can't remember what I had. Also, what would be the best free or cheap program for recovering files that have been wiped.

Unfortunately, Kittie, each CPU's undervolting values are different due to production variances. I have no idea what you might've had.

I live in UK , and it was around 1,5 weeks for a blu-ray drive ... but who knows how long it would be there for you.

Hi, I've found them to be very good in England, however they have regional franchised repairers thus it might vary a great deal depending upon where you live in a country. My record for a return is 4 days, however, where a part might be out of stock, it could be longer. Needless to say, communication should always be a top priority for satisfactory customer service. I have always found Acer have kept me informed automatically as to the status of any laptop I've sent in for repair, and I've sent in one or two of them. Thus it would seem Kitty is being let down and I can only suggest the more direct method...

Ringing the repair centre is insanely unproductive. You're on hold for hours and I actually used up about 6 euros credit one day.

Hi, I know it costs some, although are you able to try it at a less busier times? However berating a individual over the phone is far more satisfactory than by e-mail :)

Not for me I have aspergers. Especially after giving out to them over the hard drive erase(rightfully so though) it'd be embarassing for me. I don't think they have "less busy hours" and it's always expensive.

The lack of communication via email is just abysmal.

This isn't something that should be taking this long, in a factory putting in a screen is a quick job, I should hope they don't have more repairs in than laptops one of their smaller factories would be putting out.
