I think this is such a noob question, but I've had the impression that restore disks could only be made once, since I first had a Lenovo that told me I could only make the recovery disks once, due to the Windows licensing, I think. Does Acer also give you a limit to how many copies you can make or not?

How about you burn one copy using the program and then burn another copy using Nero or something.

That's a good idea, actually. Make a copy of the copy.

I would highly recommend choosing the "make an ISO" option if it is available. That way you can burn as many recovery discs as you need (usually two, one as a backup).

This topic really make me feel afraid.
I don't know how many times Acer will provide. But I guess it should be infinite since it is a software?
You can just burn it and burn it again.
I am not sure because I haven't burn my Default Factory yet.

I'm sure you can burn as many copies you want. I don't believe Acer has that limitation.

Well actually I'm burning a 2nd copy of them right now..using Empowering Technology itself.. Well, perhaps an infinite number of times would be right, or, more accurately, until my drive gives up. Haha anyway, I'm also thinking of making an iso backup of it. Thanks for the help guys!

ISO Back-up is a good idea.
But I wonder the virtual driver can be read during boot-up?
Anyone mind tell me the correct answer for this?

No, no, you got it wrong. You won't use the ISO for a virtual DVD drive--you're gonna have it as a backup so that you could burn copies just by having those files.. So even if your OS fails, you could for example take the HDD out and then get the ISO using an external enclosure or something and burn it from a separate laptop/PC.

i have always made two copies one to dvd and another to USB external hard drive.
and the external copy along with a compleat back-up is the faster restore option.
also have a compleat copy of the PQService partition and the MBR.
and you can also get a copy of a Vista repair option which you don't get with oem versions of the pre installed xp or vista.from microsoft.(see first thread on this board)this disk gives you the repair option and the cmd option.fixmbr and fixboot.
acer like you to restore back to factory so you get all the junk that comes with that option.well they got a slap on the wrist for not giving us the repair option in the restore.now there is a free disk for all to download :D
    enjoy
    Phil :D

PS. here's a link to my post for the free copies of the disk.
