Battery bar is holding pretty steady for me at 7:10 at total capacity. This is with brightness generally being at one step from the lowest, cpu at 1200, wifi, lan, etc on, and steady use of web/outlook/video without giving enough time for the screen to turn off. Wondering if I should be trying to squeeze out more or if I should be happy.

7:10 is fine! But battery life really depends on what you're doing, it's difficult to compare with others. I get everything from 5-8 hours...

Battery bar fames itself as the most accurate battery life indication... I don't believe it. It was wrong on my 1810tz.

It also messed up the Windows battery life prediction. I wouldn't recommend anyone to install it on the 1810tz.

Better start measuring your battery life by hand.

Use RMClock for better battery information.

I wonder what kind of usage acer put on the laptop to get the 8+ hours of battery. I generally surf, use rdp, and check emails all day, and battery bar right now is indicating 6:19 total run time... with display all the way down, and everything but wired lan off.

I wouldn't trust Battery Bar. Better time by hand. Notebookcheck and Laptopmag both got over 8 hours with real life surfing tests.

Although your RDP usage may be spiking CPU usage.

Some tips to increase battery life:
-set windows power management to Energy saver
    -use flashblock in firefox
-set intel graphics properties to max. power consumption.
    -use undervolting

What do you use to undervolt the u4100? rmclock only detects the 6x multi, and wont drop it past .9v anyway. Even with the unlock vid reg entry.

I sold my 1810tz, never tried undervolting it.
