hi i was just wondering who has how much ram in their 5100, i upgraded mine and i have been having bother , i went for 4 gb which was a bit daft seeing as the 32 bit version of vista wont recognise it, i just wondered who had updated the ram in their laptop how much they put in and if they had any adverse effects , or success stories good and bad welcome i'm just trying to figure out this whole blue screen with white dashes thing , to see if the amount of memory fitted has a bearing the frequency of it happening.
    any info would be great
    thanks guys:smile:

I also recently upgraded my Aspire5112 from 512Mb_533Mhz to 2x1Gb_667Mhz!

Everything went great, notebook is finally working great after a year and a half of agony with BSOD's :)
I updated my drivers and BIOS also and that was the reason of BSOD's I guess, because my old memory is showing no errors with Gold Memory.

Now my notebook is just what I need, fast and reliable! Here you go, one success story :D

Are your modules of RAM from the same manufacturer, is their speed supported by your notebook ?
Try taking one of your module out and see if you still get BSOD's ( Blue Screen Of Death) because anyway you notebook is using just one of them!
