    How much resources to use for background programs?

    Hi all, I was wondering how much of my system resources are recommended to be used on my lapppy? Considering I have only 512 RAM and what is level 2 Cache of CPU, because i never get it... which one is more important and why?

    Level 2 cache for the CPU has nothing to do with the RAM. You can't do anything to it, it is embedded on the processor. On the other hand, on your first question, it is up to you. System resources, well if you want to use a program that uses a lot of resources, just close other programs that uses it. I'm not sure where but if you google you will be able to find websites that tell you which programs are essential for your system, and which you can choose not to run. Try google like winxp background program or something like that.
