There should be a sticker on the lid, or it should be on that sticker on the right palmrest.

If you had the lid or case replaced then the stickers won't be there any more. Best to check the manual.

    hehe,

18/04/07, bought Acer with according to their details, has 15" screen, after i paid i saw on the box it has 14".. went back and replaced it to fujitsu siemens amilo li1705, according to their details have T2050 cpu, after i checked at home i saw it has T2060 (half cache memory), last week replaced to Acer Aspire 5104WLMi and after 5 hours, the screen went crazy (you can find my post somewhere here),replaced it to this one, but i want to be sure everything is ok in the laptop and nothing is missing..

so maybe someone else know how i can check if i got signalup or not? :/

Basically every Acer laptop that has built in Wi-Fi card has signal up technology. It's all about PIFA antennas on top of the screen that gives you better coverage and reception. Acer claims to be the only notebook manufacturer to own a Radio Frequency lab and test their notebooks there.

So how does the Wi-Fi work?
It's internal antenna- two actually. I does have antenna if it does have Wi-Fi and if it has Wi-Fi and it is Acer than it has signal-up.

As long as your notebook has wireless and was made within the i'd say last 4 years you have signalup technology built in. You cannot see the "technology" because as in the link downloads posted, the PIFA antennas are in the LCD like all other wireless antennas however they are located on the top of the LCD unlike other notebooks ;) . My old travelmate which is almost 4 years old now has signalup technology. I remember back then(2003) acer used to make a big deal about this but now that really isn't the case anymore.

Signalup technology does help alot with wireless range and reception because of it generating an omni-directional signal field, my brother's HP cannot get a signal as far away from the wireless repeater as I can. My other brother who has a gateway his range is similar to the HP and none of them can go as far as anyone of my acers. :D

hmmm... Thanks for the explanation. I originally thought that the "signal up" logo on my lid is just some useless stuff for marketing. Guess I was wrong.
