I've read a lot of threads about Acer Launch Manager but none of them seems to answer my question and it's beginning to drive me insane.

In Windows 7, how do you configure the touch sensitive hotkeys (the additional buttons for the communication modules) on the left side of the (very tight) keyboard on Acer 8935G?

I keep hitting them by mistake while using fullscreen applications and it's really annoying... sometimes leading to an application crash.

I've tried the latest Launch Manager 3.0.04 but I can't find any options for these keys at all... in fact, the keys listed in the setup of that program, Empowering Technology, WWW and E-mail, don't exist at all.

I know that I can kill the Acer Launch Manager completely through msconfig but that seems a bit clumsy since I don't wanna kill the volume button to the right for example.

You gotta be able to change the registry or something somewhere to fix this, right?

    Can anyone help me?

    Really, no one knows anything?

Is there really no software for configurating these keys on Acer laptops?

I had the same problem. Launch Manager 3.0.x on Windows 7 seems only to be interested in the one "P" button. After tinkering around quite a bit, I think this is because Windows 7 can handle some of these buttons natively. However, that leaves the ones it can't handle useless.

Anyway, what worked for me was to install the older 2.0.x version of the Launch Manager software. Go to acer.com > Service & Support > Driver Download and navigate to your laptop model. Then choose Vista as your operating system. Under the Application tab, you should find Launch Manager version 2.0.05 or similar. Download and install that one instead.
