I find the touchpad a bit annoying and would like to use an external mouse. How do I disable the touchpad? Thanks in advance.

I tried these suggestions on my acer 5520 notebook and found they didn't work for me. I was frustrated with the tapping function so I went to "control panel"- "mouse"- "tapping" and on the upper left of the "tapping" screen there was a box that said "tapping" and I unchecked it and it worked!! Yea!!
