I have an Acer Aspire 5680 with BIOS version 3.6. When I try to install Windows 2008 Server R2 64 Bit via virtual box i am getting the message VT is not enabled and installation would stop there.

I have seen a lot of threads which use Phlash16 and .wpf file to update a moded file to BIOS inc this one:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...zation-test-machine-acer-aspire-9420-a-6.html

Any idea whether this is working?

    BIOS available here :
    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5680/bios/BIOS 3.60.zip

Could any one give me the link to a file which would enable VT on my laptop work with out bricking it?

    Greatly appreciate any help .

some time ago, I found a VT enabled v3.60 image that indeed worked. The link you gave inlcuded a 3.66 (e.g. version bumped) 3.60 that was supposed to work but tried to flash it to a different 5680 and
gives a black screen/no boot Recovered via crisdisk.

The original VT enabled bios -- I can't find it anymore. I do not have windows et al so editing the whole stuff myself would be a bit cumbersome so if anyone has a bios that works I would be grateful.

Furter seems that this link Hardware Upgrade Forum - View Single Post - ACER 5685 WLMI che ne dite? tells how to do it.
