    How to find out if my Acer second hand is STOLEN or not ?

    I bought a second hand Acer travelmate, any way to find out if it is stolen with the serial number or another figure ?

    Go to the police with the serial number, contact acer with the serial number????

    Does Acer have an online service for this ? typing in serial number and get yes or no ?

    Probably not, but If they've ever had a lorry load stolen or something like that, they would know the serial numbers of them (although I guess this is highly unlikely).

    If the problem is like other people have suggested in another topic you've made, the laptop may not be stolen, more like someone has put windows on with a fake serial number, or they havn't activated it. If this is the case, then the laptop probably isn't stolen, just has a pirated version of vista on.

    What model is it ?

    Well other than stolen , i would care to see if it has any Bios password set by other person .

    If not , you are good ... if it is password protected , only the true owner will know it .
