I really really really want to like this laptop. It does everything i need it, but one thing. Streaming video...and sometimes audio is slow or choppy.

I havent uninstalled any of the fluff that comes with the laptop and i was wondering if removing some of that will help...or

Do 4810t stream multimedia content better if running Windows 7? I guess i can wait till then.

Videos from Vimeo and Streetfire.net ( i work in automotive media ) are slow, stuttering or just plain unwatchable. Some of it isn't even HD content, and even when you wait to cache up and load then play it still is choppy.

Any tips to get this sweet laptop streaming smoothly?

or else this laptop needs to be returned. :(

Hi. I´m afraid I´l let you down. I´ve tried everything-running streamlined Vista, XP, Windows 7,-with no success. Simply the poor Solo processor can´t cope. If I could, I would definitely return it. In my country, unfortunately, I can´t do that. Bad luck!

    I have a SU2700 Processor one.
Non HD contents load just fine.
Experience a bit of frame skip on YouTube high quality.
Other factors could be in play.

Yea Nostahoe what OS are you running? And how many background processes do you have?

If something is occupying your CPU results will be worse. A heavy virsus scanner for example.

Co'mon people! My desktop Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz uses 50% CPU playing HD 3D youtube videos, what do you expect on a Core 2 Solo 1.4 GHz???

Until Adobe adds hardware acceleration to flash, nothing is gonna change. Your only option is to watch SD, or download the HD version ad play it offline.

Actually if you don't mid the inconvenience you can use VLC in DirectX mode to stream it.

That's nice to hear but if it doesn't work in High Quality than it's not HD.

I found out how just append &fmt=22 to the end of the URL to force HD mode.

I just tested it. In VLC the quality is way lower than Youtube HD.

    I tried this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAV8bxC-eOc

Did you append &fmt=22 to the end of the URL?
    It should be
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAV8bxC-eOc &fmt=22

Yes tried that. Does not seem to make any difference. The quality I get is about 340*180.

    Try this instead in VLC
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIS6G-HvnkU&fmt=22

The original video must have HD the video you used is not available for viewing for me due to country restriction.

I think it is the URL pointing to the HD video that is the problem.
Google "Youtube VLC" for more info

The only thing you can do is overclocking.

Otherwise heavy flash with SU3500 will be a struggle until Adobe makes flash GPU accelerated.

i posted on another thread somewhere a bookmarklet that will let you download the HD mp4, if you can find how it dynamically finds the file maybe you can find how to stream it into VCL or MPC.
