I'm having some difficulties after formatting my laptop. When i first bought the laptop, i was given Resource CD which contains the drivers. But after i installed everything from the disc, there are something missing. Such as;
1. the meter for the volume and the brightness didn't work
2. the Bluetooth was undetected
3. a dialog called Dr Watson popped up saying there was an interruption![]()
etc etc...![]()
is there something that i did wrong? did i installed the correct driver? I don't know which driver to be installed first, could that be the cause? was the drivers given in the disc is not the complete set of drivers that i need?

All those little things like the meter for sound or brightness are not included in the drivers. There is some other utility that does that. You would have to contact acer or keep looking around on the downloads section.
The dialog about dr watson was an internet pop up, not something OS related.
And are you sure you have BT, and downloaded the correct drivers? -
thank you for your reply... well one thing for sure i know is that i got the drivers from the Resource CD that was given to me when i first bought it and yes the notebook has a BT device... When i tried to switch on the BT, it didn't blink and when i tried to open up via the taskbar it said "device not found".. Although, when i surfed through the internet i found out that there are more actually but i was afraid to give it a try because i was afraid that it might create a conflict to the OS.. My mate told me to install the chipset first before i install everything, (was there any step on which to install the driver first before the others?).. thnx...

It doesn't really matter what order you install the drivers in, it all ends up the same.
Idk about the BT, the only two things I can think of are: the current OS you have does not have drivers for your BT, or that you don't have BT (even tho you have the BT switch). -
The little program that you guys are thinking about that shows the volume meter as well as wireless on/off etc on the screen is acer launch manager. Of all the acer utilities this one is actually the one you need.
About the bluetooth issue acer is known to use universal chassis within a notebook series so even though your notebook has a bluetooth button, it doesn't automatically mean there is a bluetooth device installed. Check your specs and make sure that bluetooth comes with your specific model. If after you have installed the bluetooth driver and then hit the switch for bluetooth and the bluetooth light doesn't light up(blue light) or blink then you have no bluetooth device installed.
To get all of the latest drivers for your aspire 5560 you can check the acer euro FTP located here. As time goes by acer updates drivers and the drivers on that resource CD might not be the latest. -
Thnx for the replies... well, there is a BT device installed inside... how do i know? because i have use the device in the past before i formatted the Drive C... So i guess i must have installed the BT device incorrectly...
To Evolution: From the acer euro FTP, do i need to extract the zip files first before i install them?
thank you very much guys.. -
If there is a zip file for the particular driver you want then yes you will have to extract the contents of the zip file to a folder say on the desktop. Now if the driver package contains a setup (executable) file run that file once you are have extracted the contents into the folder. If however there is no setup.exe file to execute then you will need to go into control panel and access the device manager and manually update the driver.
Note: On the FTP the vista folder contains drivers for vista only and the main folder marked driver is for XP only don't mix the 2 select the drivers for the OS you currently have. -
Thank you so much... that helps... i will try to install the drivers from the site that you gave.. Thnx again guys...
