Hi guyz, I'll make this short.
Im planning to buy this laptop, but the reviews say that it is damn ugly. I've seen this lappy in a store yesterday and I had no reactions to its appearance. Now, after reading these review, I'm confused. Does it really look that bad?

Looks apart, how is this laptop as a choice? I mean the spex are pretty good indeed. Will it work for playing games like americas army and halo 2, and maybe nfs carbon? How is it overall.

    Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanx,
    Akshay

The Acer 5920G being ugly is a personal preference. The Acer 5920G being awesome... that's a fact.

I bet you read Cnet's terribly biased review... Check out the REAL reviews in my signature.

And yes, look is a personal preference. The 5920G being awesome is a fact.

The games you mentioned will be playable for sure. nfs Carbon might get some low fps sometimes, but still playable.

yea, but, I thought maybe that time I really did not pay attention to the laptops appearance. But now that its clarified that the laptop looks pretty much okay, the spex would have more than made up for it anyway.

Thanx to you guyz I have finally made the decision of buying this, because its pretty much the best laptop for the price.

I am getting a 2.2Ghz 2GB RAM, 250GB hard drive and 256mb dedicated video memory. Whereas all reviews I have seen haven't had spex more than 2.0Ghz and 200gb hard drive. And you won't believe how much I am getting it for. I am getting all these spex for around $1300 from store. That is simply too good for the price.

If there are any other suggestions or any better laptop available, please do tell me.
Other wise, today I am going to buy this laptop.

    Thanx for your suggestions.

    Akshay

I think that model has the 8600M GS graphics card, which is inferior to the GT version. HOwever, if you get a GT with that, it's pretty decent.

I actually live in the middle east, and im buying from a store called emax. If you had come here probably 2 -3 yrs ago, prices would atleast be double the actual. Now, Im amazed at price.

Damn, the store was closed yesterday....

And yea, the price is in USD (i converted it)

I've seen those same specs on an Asian (maybe China?) market. I think it was a 8600 gs not a gt, but its still a good price.
