To delete the recover partition head over to Control Panel and look for Computer Manage Ment and then look for Disk management on the right side. Then select the recover partition and right click and delete.

Some of the acer stuff is quite usable but I think you need to decide what you need. Also i think you'll need it to use certain services on your computer.

My thoughts exactly, so many people come on here complaining about I can't get my windows back and they have deleted the PQservice partition and forgot to make the DVDs then expect magic to work when it comes to recover windows. IMHO that recovery partition is only about ~4Gb in size and that is nothing compared to the sizes of modern notebook hard drives so it doesn't cost you much in terms of space. I agree with Theo here don't delete that partition trust me it can save you from a few headaches down the road should you need to recover windows.

Note. recovering from the partition is very fast ~10mins whereas if you use the DVDs it can take about 1 hour.

Yes I made Recovery DVDs so i can recover my system to factory defult any time using bootable Disks(It take 2 DVDs)I don't like to spend another 10+ GB for Recover Partition.

I think I've read every review for the Aspire 5920 on the internet.

I only ask to see real life pictures because for example, no review has taken a picture of the underside of the notebook, nor the back of the monitor (are there any ports there?). Plus user photography is always more insightful than professional photos or even promotional pictures.

I am considering between Asus G1s and Aspire 5920.
I understand that G1s is a more powerful machine supposedly. However, I don't really need that much power as I am not a heavy gamer and I dont want to spend extra for what I am not required

My question is if 5920 supports Intel Robson technology? (I believe in it even though it is against most people belief)
Is the machine running hot? Any other features you think it should include?

Anyone has further user experience with 5920G?

Does the machine run very hot?

I am seriously considering this one and Asus G1s. I am not a heavy gamer. Seems to be 5920G is a better buy in terms of machine power and spec. Agree?

Well, it's a toss up, the ASUS is $100 less, have a faster CPU, Higher res screen but smaller HD and no HD-DVD drive. But with Blockbuster opting today to offer blu-ray disc on rental, a HD-DVD may not do you much good. and I do think that a 1280x800 screen on a 15.4" is a waste of real estate.

I'm going to wait for the Travelmate 8200 series re-fresh, maybe that will have a 1680x1050 screen (pretty sure it will) with a blu-ray drive instead (since the 8210 have blu-ray).

Well, I think you got that utterly wrong mate. Here in the U.K, the Acer is gonna be retailing at £799 while the Asus is retailing at £1200. Thats £400 difference - $798

I guess you guys across the pond is always getting shafted. Here in the states the 2 unit is within $100 of each other.

P.S. Does the UK Aspire comes with HD-DVD? that could account for some of the price difference.

The UK Aspire does not come with HD-DVD, and its not known 100% if that will be an option. I noticed too that the US aspire came with Hd-DVD mostly as standard. That would account for the large price difference.

Last week I went to a store to see the acer, here in italy you can find it starting at 1250~1300€, while the asus g1s is about 1600~1700€ (versions without hd-dvd)
Usually here acer prices are very aggressive while asus, sony and others notebooks with similar specs are at least 100€ more expensive.
I had the opportunity to see the acer in person, but i didn't like the design, in my opinion it seems too much a toy (but such a powerful toy!)
Yes the plastic flexes a little, and it's always hot, even the demo unit which was running only the vista bubbles screensaver was untouchable in the left area near the cpu-gpu cooling.
But here it's the most economic santa rosa laptop with a gaming gpu, don't expect to obtain a perfect machine with so little money
