Hey
I got a ACER ASPIRE 3620 Laptop, and i always use to use the RECOVERY FUNCTION, to recover my Windows, by pressing ALT+F10.
But now i have formated my C: and now i cannot use the ALT+F10 anymore? I press it in the begining when the computer is starting and nothing happens?
My Recovery drive is still present, its called "PQSERVICE" and its about 3gb.
Someone told me to do something with the boot.ini but i am not sure how...
Please help me how can i get my Windows back?

The reason why ALT+F10 doesn't work anymore is because in formatting partition C you have over wrote acer special master boot record (MBR) which allows for ALT+F10 to work.
You can take a look at my post in this thread to see how to fix the issue.
If you have vista I don't know if this will work but I know it works if the notebook came with XP pre-installed. -
I have WINDOWS XP now...
How can i move the files from HIDDEN PARTITION to C: ?
CAn you help me -
You said you have "windows XP now" does that mean that the notebook came with vista pre-installed? If so then as you can see from the same thread that those files are missing in the vista PQService partition. If that is not the case and your notebook came with XP; then you can use a disk utility to view the files on the hidden partition and copy the 2 that you need onto your C drive.

Evolution,
I think your Instruction has busted my computer.
I had copied those 2 files as you stated, then i restarted...
When it was restarting it just got stuck at one point and there were some scribble on the black screen and i could do nothing beside restart again, so i did and same thing came up.
So i didnt need anything on the drive anyway, so i restarted again and pressed ALT+F10, and it worked. I started the process and it completed everythiing. When it completed everything and then restarted, the SAME scribble came on the screen again?
I am stuck now and cant do anything.. Can you guide me furthur?
I had Windows XP from the beggining, i never got Vista.
(I am at a diff comp now)
Waiting for a response. -
You can use Active@ Undelete to boot from a disk and then recover data on your drive. That should help I suppose.
