    To make a long story short i'll post the basics of my problem...

    acer aspire 5720 2 gb ram 160 gb hd pentium dual core 1.6 ghz

    purchased last week from online dealer with no returns-newegg

    onboard soundcard has made crackling noises since day one.

    soundcard mfr. real tek has not returned a single email inquiring about my problem.

    acer told me to contact the soundcard maker if its giving me technical problems. ive called acer and asked about ANY soundcards i could buy that are approved for my notebook. they said they can't do a test "like that".acer also stated downgrading to xp is not advised and would void warranty. (i figured downgrading would allow for better support for my audio program)
