    I have a aspire 7720, want to resize partitions and remove bloatware

    As the title says, i have a new aspire 7720, I want to remove the bloat ware and resize the partitions to 80 gigs for C:drive and the rest for D:data drive.

    any help would be appreciated...

    Use GParted to resize the partitions. It will check the partitions for errors, etc after resizing, and so it is the safest way to resize without losing data.
    As for bloatware, if using Vista - you can check out the Vista Tweaks and Tips Sticky. You can use CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller to remove the unwanted Acer software, and keep an eye on the Services and Startup Items for any other bloating Acer Software. Just keep Launch Manager, as I believe that is the only useful Acer software as it displays the functions of the FN-keys.....In the end you can defrag your HDD using JKDefragGUI. :)

    I want to get rid of the game software and stuff like that. e power etc is fine. I dont mind that stuff. I know when I removed the HP crap on my dv, its screwed up windows.

    you can start with the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS of the control pannel.

    as for all the games... i don't think they are actually installed.... thier installation files are on the drive and if i recall correctly, you can just delete that entire folder where those games are loacted.

    i'd personally just do a factory restore since i don't think it puts those games back on... then you can just uninstall all the other acer BS...
