    Hi!

My laptop fell off a table whilst the disk tray was open and jammed the disk tray shut. It didn't damage the laptop at all, just made a whirring noise every time I turned it on and off because there was a CD still in there (been like that for a few months). However, today the tray opened a little and so I pulled it right out. I know enough about computers to know that I haven't damaged anything else, just removed the tray.

Now my laptop won't turn on, and even the charging light doesn't come on. A piece of plastic ribbon/connector that was attached to the tray is loose - could it be that?

    (Acer Aspire 5920, Windows Vista)

    Any help much appreciated!

It's clearly a power problem strangely(for me) caused by the removed tray. Why don't you remove the whole drive? Disconnect the power from it will solve the problem IMO.
